Traditional Games
July 27, 2023
Kolej Perdana students are engaging in traditional games like congkak, batu seremban, jengga, and jutaria. These games hold cultural and historical significance and provide a fun way to connect with traditional practices and heritage.
Congkak is a traditional Malay game played with a wooden board and marbles. The objective is to collect more marbles than your opponent by strategically moving them around the board.
Batu Seremban, also known as five stones, is a popular game played with small fabric or leather pouches filled with rice or sand. The objective is to toss the pouches in the air and catch them in different combinations on the back of your hand.
Jengga, also known as Jenga, is a game where players take turns removing one block at a time from a tower and placing it on top without causing the tower to collapse. It requires steady hands and strategic decision-making.
Playing these traditional games not only promotes cultural appreciation but also encourages social interaction, strategic thinking, and hand-eye coordination. It’s great to see students and staff at Kolej Perdana participating in these activities and preserving cultural traditions.
